Frankie Jordan (Amy McIntosh) on American Idol!

It was about ten o'clock local time that I received a call from my youngest brother Charlie McHatton from Portland.  He said that Amy McIntosh, the woman we who we did her wedding video about a year ago, was just on "American Idol" on television.  I said "no way!"  He said "yes, it's true," he just watched it.  I went online and sure, enough, it was true that Amy McIntosh had tried out at the Salt Lake City auditions for American Idol and she had done great.  It was a remarkable story because just a month or so ago her husband Dion had won $50,000 on a TV show called "Rediscovered."  I always knew that Dion and Amy were very special people.  It was a little over a year ago that Tyler and Charlie and I had travelled down to Dana Point, California to shoot Amy and Dion's beautiful wedding.  They are really cool people.  I wish them the very best.

Bellevue Chamber - After Hours event - Lincoln Square Cinemas

Bill Maxwell and I had a super time at the Bellevue Chamber After Hours party at the Lincoln Square Cinemas.  They had blackjack tables in the lobby and lots of great food and some wine and beer, too.  It was great to re-connect with lots of our friends at the Chamber.   I ran into Bob and Jackie Pappas as they were leaving the theater.  We are almost finished with their video biography.   They had just finished seeing "The Wrestler" with Mickey O'Rourke.  I met a lot of new people at this event.  Valerie from the Chamber was awesome in keeping everyone enthusiastic and happy during this fun event.  They gave out a lot of cool door prizes.  Bill Maxwell won two free movie tickets to the Lincoln Square Cinemas, and he gave them to me.

Tom is the CEO of Barghausen Consulting Engineers of Kent, WA.  His firm is one of the fastest growing engineering firms on the west coast.

Fumiko Hayashida - 99 years old

I had the great fortune to be able to spend a couple of hours with Fumiko Hayashida, interviewing her for a video project. Fumiko is 99 years old and still full of life, laughter, and great wisdom. She told me great stories about her life living in the Northwest. Fumiko told me the incredible story about how she was pregnant with two small children with her husband when she was told to "evacuate" to the internment camps down in California. I asked Fumiko if she held any animosity to America for what happened to her. She said she always trusted the US Government and just wished the war was over faster. She and her children and husband lived for three years in a camp in the desert. I was deeply moved by my experience interviewing Fumiko. She is a very wonderful person.

Chefs of Seattle Documentary

Last summer I was driving down the road, listening to the radio when I heard the speaker talking about how "Chefs are like Rock Stars." This caught my attention and I could not get it out of my mind. I instantly knew I had to make a movie, a documentary, about chefs. This is how the "Chefs of Seattle" documentary project started.

We took the top ten chef lists from the Seattle Times, Seattle Weekly, Seattle Magazine, Seattle PI, and other publications we could find, combined the lists, looked for common names, and then we had our own TOP HIT LIST of potential Chefs of Seattle.


Thanks to some great footwork by my co-producer Mitchell Pickett, it did not take long to set up our interviews with these top chefs.

I can't tell you how great it has been to work with Robert DalColletto. He is a truly nice guy and dedicated father and husband. He really inspires me to want to be a better person. Robert brought the Legends of Aviation project to us at Inventive Productions last fall and it has been a pleasure to work with him. Robert's enthusiasm and love for the people in aviation is incredibly contagious. He lights up every time he sees a legend walk past. Robert is a professional screenwriter and is working on several projects.

Interview with Harrison Ford

I really enjoyed meeting and interviewing Harrison Ford for the Legends of Aviation project. Harrison is being honored and recognized for his work with the Young Eagles program, which tries to introduce the love of aviation to young people all across America. We met Harrison at a hangar with some of his airplanes and helicopters. Harrison was great. He really made us feel comfortable and the interview turned out awesome. I hope he likes the video we made for him.
